| Zoo Animals / Asian elephant.
Even though Asian elephants are smaller than their African cousins, they
still get up to 11 feet tall and weigh over 10,000 pounds. The broad feet
distribute this bulk so well that elephants hardly leave any tracks when
they walk. The trunk is not only used for feeding, but for a host of other
behaviors, including drinking, greeting, caressing, fighting, squirting
water and throwing dust. |
