Cruise to Halong bay and Cat Ba island.

Halong Bay is a bay in the Gulf of Tonkin, about 170 km from Hanoi. Halong Bay is made up of 1,969 islands of various sizes, 989 of which have been given names. This densely concentrated zone of stone islands has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Halong bay is one of the new seven natural wonders of the world.

 

A itinerary of three-day trip to Ha Long bay and Cat Ba island.

  • Day 1: Bải Cháy to Hang Sửng Sốt (Surprise cave). Visit Surprise cave, then go to the nearby floating village for kayaking. After kayaking, going back to the ship, have dinner and sleep on the cruise ship.
  • Day 2: cruise to Việt Hải harbor on Cat Ba island. Biking to Việt Hải village. The bike route goes throught the west part of the Cat Ba National Park. After visiting Viet Hai village, the ship cruises through Lan Hạ bay to Bến Bèo harbor. Take a bus to Cat Ba town in the afternoon. Visiting Cat Ba National Park or go to the beaches (Cát Cò 1 and 2). Stay overnight in Cat Ba.
  • Day 3: cruise back to Bải Cháy, Halong city, through the southern part of Bai Tu Long bay.

If you have time, you need to take at least a 3-day cruise to enjoy the beauty of this natural wonder of the world.

Map of Cat Ba island and Halong bay. All cruise ships stay overnight in Halong bay near Hòn Ti Tôp (Titop island). On 2nd day, we cruised to Cảng Việt Hải (Viet Hai harbor) on Cat Ba island and biking to Việt Hải village. There is a trail connecting Việt Hải village and Cát Bà town through the Cat Ba National Park (Vườn Quốc Gia Cát Bà).
