Tam Coc means three caves, which takes about two hours driving from Hanoi (about 70 miles) to the South on National highway 1A. Visitors will visit Tam Coc in a boat rowed by local people in Ngô Đồng river and see beautiful limestone mountains, which will run along their riverway for several miles. The route includes floating through three natural caves (Tam Cốc: Hang Cả, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba), the largest of which is 125m long with its ceiling about 2m high above the water. The boats are typically rowed by one local woman who also sell embroidered goods.
