Purple Pitcher plant (Sarracenia purpurea).
Sarracenia purpurea is a carnivorous plant in the family Sarraceniaceae. Its range includes almost the entire eastern seaboard of the United States, and south eastern Canada. The leaves are modified into pitchers. The inner surface is covered with downward-pointing hairs, which make it difficult for insects to crawl out of the pitcher.
