Sorrel is a perennial herb that is cultivated as a garden herb or leaf vegetable. Sorrel grows wild throughout Europe and Asia. Leaves have a tangy, acidic, sour-lemony flavor and are commonly used in salads, soups, omelets and sauces.  Cold hardy: USDA zone 3-7.
